Omega-6 fatty acids are the other essential fatty acid, which means we must also obtain these fats from our diet. They are good for your heart because you need them. Though, in modern times, we consume more than we need. Essential fats are best consumed in a ratio of 3:1 omega-6:omega-3. Sources of omega-6 include vegetable oils, with safflower oil being the richest in omega-6 and hemp oil containing the best ratio of omega-6:omega-3. Other oils include sunflower, corn, sesame, walnut and soybean. This is one area you neednít worry about. More than likely, you are getting your essential amount of omega-6.
