Summary:
Deposition of cholesterol in the cornea of the eye before the age of 50, called corneal arcus, indicates a lipid disorder. Arcus senilis, on the other hand, occurs in the elderly and has less clinical significance. The “eye” is a window that lets doctors and sophisticated patients (you) “see” lipid problems before they cause heart disease.
